Ayurveda Consultations

Ayurveda is a mind, body and spirit approach to health and wellness. It takes into consideration the whole individual and uses five sense treatments to maintain wellness, prevent illness and restore health. Addressing the senses, treatments may include diet, herbs, mantras, meditation, yoga, aromas, massage, colors, music, cleanses and other therapeutic lifestyle changes.

An Ayurvedic consultation focuses on the root cause of your health imbalance by understanding your unique dosha, and Ayurvedic Counselors work to restore balance and harmony to the mind, body and spirit. If you are already ill, Ayurvedic lifestyle changes can help you create the optimum environment in your body for healing to take place. As it helps you to take personal responsibility for your health, Ayurveda can support you in feeling better about life, with greater energy and enthusiasm.

Initial Consultation

Ayurveda Health Counselors at Yoga on High conduct Ayurvedic consultations to determine your unique constitution (prakriti), thereby identifying your natural state of balance and any imbalances you may have. Then you are given a detailed lifestyle program that not only includes foods and herbs, but also aromas, colors, massage, detoxification programs, yoga and meditation—all aimed at restoring or maintaining balance.

Ayurvedic consultations are now available. Please email ayurveda@yogaonhigh.com to set up an appointment.

Follow Up Visits

During follow-up visits, your counselor will continue to implement your treatment program, monitor your progress and check in with you about how you are feeling. If necessary, they will make changes or additions to your program to help you reach your goals. Your counselor is a personalized health educator there to support you on your journey!

Ayurveda BODYWORK

Yoga on High’s Ayurvedic Spa uses oils medicated with herbs and essential oil. This is an important part of Ayurvedic therapeutic treatments and provides for powerful healing experiences and for achieving a deep state of relaxation and peacefulness.

Abhyanga (Ayurvedic Massage)   60 minutes

This deeply relaxing, choreographed massage, with either one massage therapists or two working together, nourishes the body’s tissues, deeply relaxes its muscles and calms the mind. Because each body is unique, special handcrafted oils are used which are prepared with herbs or essential oils to meet your special needs.

Shirodhara

Shirodhara   30 minutes

Lie back and relax, as a soothing stream of warm, herbalized oil is poured luxuriously onto your forehead and third eye. This simple yet profound treatment works specifically on balancing and stabilizing the activity of the mind, taking you on a journey deep within.

Swedana   5-20 minutes

Follow your warm oil massage with an exquisite, detoxifying herbal steam treatment that will leave you feeling clear, rejuvenated and deeply moisturized. Medicinal herbs such as lavender, chamomile, bay leaf, eucalyptus, rosemary and lemongrass help to clear the body’s channels, relax the muscles and nurture the senses.

Bliss Therapy (Abhyanga, Shirodhara, Swedana) 120 minutes

This heavenly therapy is a combination of Abhyanga, Shirodhara and Swedana and takes the mind, body and spirit on an inner journey of relaxation and mental purification. Each therapy includes meditation and rest. By promoting deep relaxation and energy flow and by purifying the body and mind, Ayurvedic Bliss Therapy brings you to a state of balance, wellness and peace that supports the healing process and allows for a connection to Spirit.

Marma Therapy   45 minutes

Using the 107 energy points on the body, this treatment restores the proper flow of energy (prana) through the entire body and eases specific conditions while enhancing the natural ability of the body to heal. Counselors work with pranic energy and massage marma points with essential oils.

Yoga Nidra/Co-meditation   60 minutes

Yoga Nidra is the art of conscious deep relaxation. The body is asleep but the mind is awake and an active participant in the healing process. This guided meditation will take you on a journey into deep self-inquiry revealing the wisdom of connecting to sensations in the body as messengers of intuitive wisdom.
